Family-Friendly Hotels at SFO
This guide lists what the six hotels on this site publish for families on their own websites (hyatt.com, marriott.com and hilton.com), and the family facilities at SFO. None of the six hotel websites states a kids-stay-free age on the pages checked for this guide, so ask the hotel when you book.
Cribs, connecting rooms and kitchens
- DoubleTree by Hilton San Francisco South Airport Blvd: cribs in rooms, high chairs and a kids’ menu in the restaurant, and connecting rooms (hilton.com). Childcare is not offered.

Pools and breakfast
The Hyatt Regency has an outdoor heated pool open daily from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm (hyatt.com). The Westin has a heated indoor pool and whirlpool; marriott.com does not list its hours. The Grand Hyatt, the Marriott Waterfront, the DoubleTree and the Home2 Suites list no pool on their websites.
Home2 Suites includes a free hot breakfast buffet. At the DoubleTree, breakfast at The Landing Restaurant & Bar is paid. At the Marriott Waterfront, breakfast is free only for M Club lounge guests with Platinum, Titanium or Ambassador Elite status. The Grand Hyatt (Quail + Crane), the Hyatt Regency (3SIXTY Bistro) and the Westin (Grill & Vine) have restaurants that serve breakfast; their websites do not list it as included in standard rates.
Getting to the terminals with luggage and children
- Grand Hyatt: the free 24-hour AirTrain stops at the hotel’s own station, connected to the lobby.
- Hyatt Regency: free shuttle every 15 minutes from 4:00 am to 1:00 am and every 30 minutes from 1:00 am to 4:00 am.
- Westin: free shuttle every 15 minutes from 4:05 am to 12:35 am, and on call from 1:05 am to 3:35 am (marriott.com).
- Marriott Waterfront: free airport shuttle (marriott.com), every 30 minutes, on the hour and at half past.
- DoubleTree: free shuttle with limited service (hilton.com); arrange it with your arrival details.
- Home2 Suites: hilton.com lists no airport shuttle in its hotel details, so confirm with the hotel or plan on a taxi, rideshare, BART or Caltrain.

Family facilities at SFO
SFO Museum runs Kids’ Spot play areas after security in Terminal 2 (near Gates D7 and D15) and in Harvey Milk Terminal 1 (near the checkpoint recompose area and across from Gate B23). Its exhibitions are in the International Terminal main hall and after security in Terminals 1 and 2.
At security, children 12 and under can keep their shoes, light jackets and headwear on. Formula, breast milk, toddler drinks and baby food over 3.4 ounces are allowed in carry-on bags, and strollers and car seats go through the X-ray (tsa.gov).
