Freshen Up: showers and nap rooms in the terminal

Freshen Up is landside (before security) in the International Terminal main hall, near the entrance to Gates G1 to G14, and is open 24 hours. It has private showers with toiletries and ironing, and private nap rooms rented in multi-hour blocks. Connecting passengers have to go through security again afterwards. Reservations are recommended during busy periods; prices are not listed here, so check them with Freshen Up before you go.

Nearby hotels for longer layovers

For a layover of more than six to eight hours, a regular room at a shuttle-served hotel can cost less than the in-terminal options. The Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport runs a free shuttle every 15 minutes for most of the day, and the Westin San Francisco Airport is about a mile from the terminals.
